Activities & Projects

this is where you can find out about what Bridges is actually doing and how you can get involved

how do we engage young people and adults to take an active role in Bridges?

We share the Bridges approach (which includes the Bridges themes and Resilience principles) with individuals, groups and organisation representatives. We then invite them to share their experiences and hopes as they relate to the Bridges approach. Their experiences are then given voice through drama, music, artwork and stories which they develop and which are promoted by Bridges.

These expressions then support discussion, understanding and learning amongst the wider community. This exchange of ideas and stories also supports the strengthening of relationships between children, young people, adults, families, communities and organisations.

Bridges also encourages agencies to take on leadership roles and initiate projects which engage their clients or community groups. While projects are developed with the Bridges themes and principles of resilience in mind, there is a lot of flexibility in terms of what the final projects may look like. This is demonstrated in the diversity of Bridges projects which have been completed to date. Many more innovative projects are being developed.

BADFS also convenes Bridges interagency meetings which support the exchange of ideas, the sharing of resources and the development of new projects.
